About Mudassar

Mudassar Choudhary is the founder of EPC Rating Check. He built the site and continues to run it directly, including the postcode lookup tool, the guides published here, and the research behind them.

He is also the director of Computer Troubleshooters Redbridge Limited, an IT support company registered in England and Wales that holds a day-rate support contract with the Ministry of Justice.

Why an EPC site

Mudassar owns and lets residential property in the North of England, managed through a letting agent, so energy performance rules are not an abstract topic for him. Checking whether a certificate has expired before a new tenancy, reading the recommendations on a certificate, and working out what a rating actually costs to improve are all things he has done on his own properties.

That is where the site came from. The official register answers one narrow question well, but it does not tell you whether a D rating is a problem, what an assessment should cost, or what a landlord has to do before 2030. EPC Rating Check exists to answer those questions in plain language, and to make the initial check take seconds rather than minutes.

His book: EPC C by 2030

In 2026 Mudassar published EPC C by 2030: The Small Landlord’s Compliance Guide. It is a plain-English guide for landlords with a handful of older properties. It covers how to read an EPC, which improvements actually move the score, what grants are available, when an exemption applies, and how to plan the work around a tenant.

The book follows one of his own rental houses from Band D to C. A lender would not remortgage it until it reached C, and the fix cost £1,200 rather than the £14,000 the old certificate suggested.

It is available on Amazon in paperback (ISBN 978-1-0369-7770-2) and on Kindle.

Other sites he runs

EPC Rating Check is one of four consumer sites Mudassar builds and maintains under Computer Troubleshooters Redbridge Limited. Each follows the same principle: make one specific task clear and simple in a market where the information is otherwise hard to pin down.

  • ID1Verify.co.uk — solicitor-led identity verification for HM Land Registry ID1, ID2 and ID5 forms, bookable online.
  • DirectAirportTaxi.com — fixed-price airport transfers across every major UK airport, booked with licensed operators.
  • SolarPrices.pk — free, independent solar price comparison and installer directory for Pakistan.

The technical work behind them also runs commercially through Search Craft Lab, a web-services brand building and maintaining sites for selected clients.

Business memberships

Computer Troubleshooters Redbridge Limited, the company behind this site, works from Chadwell Heath in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. It is a member of the Redbridge Chamber of Commerce and the Havering Chamber of Commerce, covering the neighbouring boroughs on either side — the same part of East London where Mudassar is based.

Through the company’s other trading businesses it is also a member of the Hillingdon Chamber of Commerce, the West London Chambers of Commerce, the Kingston Chamber of Commerce, the Bangor Chamber of Commerce in County Down, and the Ballymena Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry in County Antrim.

Writing and background

As well as EPC C by 2030, Mudassar is the author of Beyond the Hype: A Content Creator’s Guide to Thriving in the Post-AI-Cost-Crash Economy, which examines how small, content-driven businesses adapt as AI reshapes the digital economy. Both books are listed on his Amazon author page.

Outside work, he is an ECB Foundation qualified cricket coach and volunteers with his local club in Redbridge. He also translates cricket content into Urdu, including work during the 2024 England Women versus Pakistan Women tour.
